Starting in 1996, Equilibre focused on home care social services. Creating a partnership with the Sector 6 (District in Bucharest) Mayor Office personnel, the Equilibre Association initiated a Social Service for the elderly in this sector.
   
Key objectives are to:
 
Avoid the need for elderly to be institutionalized
Educate and raise the responsibility level of local authorities in this area
Placing and monitoring social workers for home care services
   
Beneficiaries:
 
500 elder people some without family, material, or financial support
   
Equilibre services offered:
 
Social assistance
Medical assistance
Free lunch – for 84 old people in a canteen, daily (from Monday to Friday) and hot meal on wheels for 51 elder people at their homes
Food packages: 100 elderly with various health problems
Cleaning products and Pampers packs for 104 elderly people
Equilibre provide home care services for the elderly:
 
13 social workers are providing home care services, after graduating from a training course, organized by our association
30 elder people are the beneficiaries of these home care services
   
Also provided is psychological counselling services, sanitary education and social counselling
   
Master’s Peace Foundation Provides:
 
Weekend food parcels for distribution to 135 elderly (6th month program beginning in Dec 2005)
Christmas food parcels for approximately 200 elderly (provided on a yearly basis)
