Master’s Peace Foundation in association with:BASE (Bethesda Associates for Social Enlightenment) and in collaboration withThe National Cadet Core drawn from Army, Navy and Airforce have completed Phase 1 of Operation Reach Out

This project was initiated to provide hot water bottles to remote villages in Kashmir following the extremely cold weather after the 8 October 2005 Earthquake.

On 8 Feb 2006 Operation reach out volunteers visited the village of Ayashpura where we found 350 families which have not been visited by either the Government or an NGO and distributed hot water bottles to each family. Subsequently they visited the village of Uri and distributed hot water bottles to an additional 580 families. The terrain in this area is extremely bad and as such it took 12 hours to complete this operation and involved 320km of very rough road travel.

Phase 2 which is in planning stage will include helping families in this area that are in desperate need with basic survival requirements.

Phase 3 which is currently being scoped will include rubble clearance & building, 70 houses were totally destroyed within the village of Ayashpura, the estimated cost is USD100,000.
